Sene has been working as Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor at BLCC since 2005. She completed Master of Research (2017); prior to that she completed Master of Education (2005), Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) (2002), Diploma in Children’s Services (1999) and Certificate III in Child Studies (1997). Sene is currently doing her PHD. Her research title is A study to explore the leadership experiences of ECE directors from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse background in high-quality ECE settings and she HOPES to complete it at the end of 2025.

Sene arrived in Australia, newly married, in 1992.  In 1998, she entered the world of Early Childhood Education as a casual educator while studying Cert III in Child Studies.  Since then, Sene has worked as a qualified educator, early childhood teacher, room leader and acting director in various centres. Her passion is providing the best and highest quality education for all young children, the most affordable ECEC service for families, and the friendliest working environment for all BLCC staff.  Her personal philosophy is: Happy teachers/educators = happy children = happy families = happy community.

Sene has balanced work, study, and family life with her husband and three grown up daughters and son.

Early Childhood Teacher and Educational Leader

Ruby joined at Boundary Lane as a placement student in Guwing room in 2021. After her placement experience, she has been working as a casual educator. Ruby became an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) since she completed her Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) degree at the University of Sydney.

Ruby is currently working full-time in Guwing room as the room leader. ‘With great power, comes great responsibility’ (said Uncle Ben from Spiderman) – learned from Guwing children. This further inspires Ruby to value collaboration and teamwork. Working collaboratively with the children, families and team members and supporting them to involve in shared decision making is the highlighted part of her teaching philosophy. Ruby loves creative arts and diverse cultural learning experiences.

Ruby has a twin sister who is currently living in Melbourne. Warm and close sibling relationship with her sister also inspires Ruby to pay attention to the impact of young children’s sibling relationships on their social and emotional development.

Felicity

Early Childhood Teacher and Team Leader

Felicity has been working as an Early Childhood Teacher at Boundary Lane since early 2008, having completed her Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) at Macquarie University in 2007.  Felicity has worked across all age groups and rooms and led the team in Birrung (0-2 year olds) for the past 4 years before moving up with the children transitioning to Yanada (2-3 year olds) in 2023.  Occasional stints as Acting Director have exposed Felicity to different parts of the profession, and allowed for an appreciation of diverse perspectives and approaches to Early Childhood Education.  A fascination with child development initially drew Felicity to the profession, and remains a motivating interest.  Observing this development, along with daily discoveries, strong relationships with children and families, conversations with children, and shared learning are her favourite parts of the job!

Felicity and her husband James have two children, Annika & Oliver, both Boundary Lane alumni.

Angela

Angela

Early Childhood Teacher and Team Leader

Angela started as a casual educator at Boundary Lane Children’s Centre since July 2022. As she completed her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education degree with Honours at the University of Sydney, she started to work as a full-time Early Childhood Teacher in Birrung room. She had several experiences of working with children aged 0 to 5 within different services across Sydney. By supporting children with diverse interests, needs and abilities in different age groups, she believes that children are all competent and capable learners who enjoy explorations and adventures in their early years. Her philosophy is to support children’s early learning and development through play and meaningful interactions. While children learn from her, she is also learning from children and learning with children as a community. As English is her additional language and she has spent eight years studying in a foreign country, she is also particularly passionate about supporting children who learn English as an additional language to develop language skills based on their own learning pace, interests, and abilities.

Angela had started her journey in Australia as an international student after studying in Alberta, Canada for three years.

Caroline

Caroline

Early Childhood Teacher and Team Leader

Caroline is currently working in the Yanada room. She graduated from the University of Sydney after completing her bachelor degree of Early Childhood Education. She has done four placements during her study and worked as a casual educator for agency before she join in the BLCC. After having her last internship at BLCC, she chose to stay and started her ECT career here.

Caroline was born and raised in China and has been living in Australia for almost 9 years since 2014. She can speak both English and Mandarin. Caroline is passionate about discovering and sharing different cultures with children as she recognises diversity as important parts of her teaching philosophy, she always celebrates the benefits of diversity with children and enables them to understand and acknowledge each other’s cultural backgrounds.

Caroline also loves exploring different instruments, she is proficient in Piano and currently learning Ukulele and Violin. She has two dogs and four cats at home, she loves spending time with her pets during her leisure time.

Michelle

Early Childhood Teacher and Team Leader

Michelle is originally from Malaysia with a Chinese background. She speaks a wide range of different languages, for instance, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Bahasa Melayu/Indonesian and English.

Michelle completed the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care (0-5) in TAFE Higher Education and join BLCC in 2022. She was a casual when she was studying and had worked with diverse age groups across private and not-for-profit organisation children’s services. After that, she took up a permanent role as an Early Childhood Teacher position in Boundary Lane when she completed her teaching degree. She is a passionate and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher who hold a strong belief of inclusion and Reggio Emilia and teaching philosophy that highlights children are capable and competent and take in what they learn through play-based experiences. She believes that her role is to foster supportive and nurturing relationships with children, families and communities to support children in reaching their fullest potential. 

Besides teaching, she enjoyed sports and travelling around the world to see different things.

Amanda

Amanda started at Boundary Lane since 1999 and was employed on cleaning duties for 15 hours per week. She started her position as an Educator since she completed her Diploma degree in Early Childhood Education and Care. Apart from working with young children, Amanda is also interested in music and photography. Her natural abilities as a performer makes Amanda one of the most cheerful and favourite educator at Boundary Lane.

During her years at BLCC, Amanda brings her passion and creativity in working with the children. She is currently working part-time in Guwing room with children from 3 to 5 years.

Dan

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Dan has been working at Boundary Lane since 2011.  Following her practicum at the centre, she earned her place on the Boundary Lane team with her never ending energy and pleasant personality.  Dan has worked across all age groups and improved her professionalism in the field by implementing her learnings and attending training opportunities.  She enjoys working with diverse families, children and staff, and most of all loves helping children achieve optimal growth.

Dan completed her Bachelor of Education at Charles Stuart University. In her spare time Dan enjoys jogging, diving and painting.

Dan is currently working in Birrung Room.

Doganay

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Doganay is a Diploma-trained educator and enjoys working at Boundary Lane with young children, helping them grow and develop in a positive way.

Doganay has been working at Boundary Lane since 2014.  She has a background as a Biologist, having completed a degree in Biology at Istanbul University in Turkey.  While studying for her degree, Doganay undertook pedagogy and education subjects in order to be able to teach Biology.

Doganay and her husband have a beautiful daughter who is in high school. She wishes to further develop her skills by attending training and courses in early childhood.  She is currently working in Birrung Room with 0-2 years old children.

Emine joined the Boundary Lane in 2018 as a casual employee. Emine was a Certificate 3 qualified educator when she began and obtained her diploma education whilst working in 2021. She has worked with all age groups. Emine enjoys working with the children and is very enthusiastic about their care and development.

Emine is of Turkish background. Her and her husband have two children, her daughter in university and her son in his final year of high school. Emine is currently working in the Birrung room with 0–2-year-old children.

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Hatice joined in Boundary Lane team in 2016.  Because of her enthusiastic and pleasant personality, she became one of the most wanted educators by the children.  Hatice’s creativity and flexibility complete her other professional skills to work with and motivate young children where she finds joy and success each and every day.

Hatice is currently working in Yanada Room (Toddlers).

Janelle

Janelle has worked at Boundary Lane since 2001.  She completed her Diploma of Children’s Services in 1999 and worked previously in a Long Day Care centre in Bronte.  Janelle has worked across all age groups, undertaken various roles at Boundary Lane and enjoys the different challenges that each age group provides.  She is one of the professional educators of the centre who likes to take risks to provide rich and stimulating learning environments to young children, where they blossom to their full potential and develop their skills further.  Janelle is Chilean/Australian, and loves working with a great mix of people from many different backgrounds where she earns everyone’s respect with her energetic and genuine personality.

Janelle has two children, Lillian (a Boundary Lane alumna) who is in high school, and Micah (a Boundary Lane alumna) who is in primary school.  Janelle is currently working in Guwing room.

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Linda has been working at Boundary Lane since 2007.  She completed her Diploma in Children’s Services and worked previously at Lucas Street Child Care Centre.  She enjoys working with children, observing them grow and develop, sharing lots of laughs, learning and special moments with them. With her caring and gentle nature, Linda is one of the most influential role-models for the Boundary Lane children.

Linda has worked with all age groups and is currently working in Yanada room.

Rachel has been working in the Early Childhood Industry for the past 18 years in the inner west. During these years, Rachel has worked in for-profit and non-profit long day care centres where she has directed and worked as an educator. Rachel has been working as a support worker in primary education and Oosh services. Rachel has the privilege to coordinate an early learning centre with Gowrie NSW for refugee and new migrant families and she feels so fortunate to now join the team and families at Boundary Lane at the beginning of 2023.

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Rui arrived in Australia in 2004 and studied Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care at Bankstown TAFE. She did one of her prac at Boundary Lane CC in 2015, then joined our team till now.

Previously, Rui worked as a personal carer of the attendant (PCA) with people who had autism spectrum disorder. She enjoys working with children, caring for them with love, making a warm and welcoming place, and watching them learn and grow in a safe and secure environment. She is a person who gives extreme happiness and positivity in the environment she is in.

Rui and her husband have a lovely son who is in primary school. She hopes to further develop her skills by attending training and courses in early childhood.

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Serap completed the Bachelor of Health and Physical education in 2009 in her hometown and worked with special needs children for 7 years. She completed her diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care in Australia and joined in Boundary Lane team in 2018. She enjoys interacting with children and supporting their learning and development in all areas.

Serap is currently working part-time in Guwing Room (3-5 years old) and enjoying being a part of the team and spending time with children.

Fiona

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Fiona Was born in Scotland, grew up in the south of England and came to Australia in 1976. Fiona Has been working in Community Services since 1979. She started her career as an educator. After two children, Fiona took a break from Child Care and worked in a bank for 2yrs. Fiona then went on to work as Co-ordinator at a newly opened Occasional Child Care centre in Glebe, where she was involved in setting up the service before it opened. Fiona’s next career move was the Children’s Services Switchboard – a telephone information service for families looking for childcare services in their area.

In 1994 Fiona began work as an Administration Assistant with Protective Behaviours Consultancy Group of NSW – a child abuse prevention program working with teachers, educators, youth workers, and police to provide them with child protection training. This program was de-funded by state govt in 2014.

Fiona went on to work in an ECE service for the next 7 years as Admin Assistant and joined BLCC in 2021.

Fiona’s next job would be “retirement”!

Fiona has three adult sons and two adult stepsons, she now has six grandchildren, three girls and three boys.

Kitty joined Boundary Lane Children’s Centre at the beginning of 2023. She adores working with children and delights in the natural creativity, curiosity and joy they bring to our lives. As a qualified educator, Kitty is passionate about fostering positive learning dispositions from a very early age; a love of learning is an enduring life skill that she feels privileged to impart through her role at Boundary Lane. Kitty’s background is in linguistics and philosophy, and she undertook a Master degree (research) in philosophical ethics at Macquarie University. Kitty works part-time at Boundary Lane and also works as a research assistant in the area of health ethics. In her spare time, she studies languages and volunteers as a bicycle mechanic at a community workshop called Bicycle Garden.

Nilufer

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Nilufer joined the Boundary Lane Team in June 2018. She completed her CERT lll Early Childhood Education and Care at Randwick TAFE in 2017. Nilufer is currently re-enrolling in TAFE to complete a Diploma in Early Childhood and Care. Prior to her career in early childhood education, she was working in the food industry as a chef.

Nilufer works as a part-time educator in the Yanada room at Boundary Lane. She also became a part-time cook in March 2019 and works every Thursday and Friday in the kitchen cooking delicious foods for our children.

Nilufer has three children, her daughter is in university, her son is in high school, and her youngest son is currently attending primary school. Besides her love of educating children, she is also a devoted gardener growing herbs and vegetables in her backyard as well as Boundary Lane staff courtyard.

Seyfiye joined Boundary Lane Children’s Centre in 2020 as a casual educator. Then she became a permanent educator at BLCC at the beginning of 2023. She graduated from high school in Turkey, and she studied a Cert III course at Tafe in Sydney. She has 2 children: a girl and a boy. Her daughter studied vision of science at the university and became an optometrist. Her son is still studying business and marketing at the university.

Sennur

Support Worker – Cook

Food Handling and Menu Planning

Sennur joined Boundary Lane at the end of 2005 as a trainee cook.  She worked as a full-time cook for years.  After her two young sons (Boundary Lane alumna) graduated from BLCC and started school, Sennur reduced her working days to Monday-Wednesday.

Sennur is an excellent cook as she always ponders what children may enjoy eating.  She is an expert in cooking healthy foods and camouflaging veggies in daily meals!  Veggie puree, pizza sauce, pumpkin cake, pogača, and spinach cake are some of her specialties.
