STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT TO CHILD SAFETY
All children have a right to be safe. The Boundary Lane Children’s Centre (BLCC) considers that the health, safety and wellbeing of children takes priority over all other competing considerations.
BLCC is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children who attend the centre. We have zero tolerance of any form of harm or child abuse and are committed to creating and maintaining an environment where children feel safe, empowered and are taken seriously if they or others raise concerns about their safety or wellbeing.
The BLCC values and supports equity and diversity. We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for children of all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with a disability, and children who identify with or are part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
We encourage children and their parents to speak up when they are concerned about or suspect child abuse or harm, and are committed to responding promptly and sensitively to complaints of child abuse and harm in a child focussed way.
REPORTING CHILD ABUSE AND HARM
The BLCC’s Child Protection Incidents Policy and Procedures provide guidance for staff, contractors, volunteers and parents on how to report concerns about child abuse or harm.
